Goodbye to all that is a series of self-woven carpet beaters with a punch. The human size instruments are freely shaped after the Venus von Willendorf and partly shrink wrapped in vacuum or hung up in a kind of spider web. Here the outlines of a body actually become a tool, maybe even a weapon. The "goodbye" is aimed at traditional representations of femininity, at the same time the well-known form of the Venus becomes "fruitful” in a new context.
The vacuum sealing in pink foil can point to the many contexts in which social equality concerns are literally suffocated - in which progress and change face a violent patriarchal backlash. The foil can on the one hand refer to a state of imprisonment or the fetishization of bodies. At the same time it can be a protective skin, a sheltering membrane between sculpture and the outside world.
