Hulda Rós Gudnadóttir, who works within the intersection of contemporary visual art and film, is born and raised in Reykjavík, but based in Berlin for the last 15 years, while she keeps one foot still on the ground in Iceland. Although her works are global in reference they are always rooted in a deep personal perspective and experience and benefit both from her being from the arctic North and also her inter-local way of living. Her projects are a long-term process based on an immersive research, interdisciplinary collaborations and social engagement where she follows the inter-connectedness of current philosophical ideas, social systems and human’s perception of its environment. The projects manifest themselves to the public as poetic yet humorous, experimental and critical creative documentaries and large mixed-media installations or more spontaneous single-channel videos, performance, intervention, sculptures and digital photography.
