Guilherme utilises diverse material such as strips of canvas, gifts of board, paintbrushes he finds, and pens to create his works of art. Often painted impromptu and in public areas, his artworks speak of the life of the street, (journey into it, people, workers, mermaids) a fusion metaphor of ’art brut’ and the ’dérive’, a collage of found material and paint, mostly life and his characters.
“A wave of feelings and emotions flows through the abstract, intensely colored works. The fact that feelings and emotions are actually not synonyms becomes clear above all in Not VS Rothko. The painting is almost completely covered by a dark, midnight blue surface on which mainly white, graffiti-like doodles are painted. If you then look down, a small, bright white surface emerges - reserved, a little distant, but still self-confident. Self-confident in the sense of: showing vulnerable emotions." -Claire Koron Elat
