The seemingly contradictory qualities of intimacy and distance define the work of Sydney, Australia-born, Berlin-based photographer and artist Paul Knight. His comprehensive, ongoing project entitled "Chamber Music" documents the everyday life of Knight and his partner Peter over the course of their relationship. It shows intimacy in all its facets: open, everyday and erotic. "My interest in power in the image is that a subject lets go of power. In that way, the vulnerability that you see is a very important part of the work." said Knight in an interview by Paper Journal.
Paul Knight’s work has been shown in solo exhibitions in galleries and photo spaces in Melbourne (Neon Parc), Osaka (The Third Gallery Aya) and Rotterdam (Lauwer), among others. In 2020, his work was shown in group exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia, among others.
