slot 4: Keep Your Eye on the Doughnut
part of auction Chapter 1"The hole is so deep and so bad; the doughnut is a beautiful thing." ...is a quote by David Lynch, which can also be found in its short form on coffee mugs and as a motivational meme, and which is essentially about concentrating on what lies within one’s own scope of action and tangibility. So it fits well that the doughnut’s shape is also reminiscent of a swimming ring, which can give us a bit of support in troubled times. And the artworks shown here can also do that: give us a bit of support. Let the eye drift through worlds of color, along geometric shapes, feel late summer melancholy, or become the owner of a personally dedicated performance – everything is possible.
